Frequently Asked Questions

No question is a stupid question!

How long does the show last?

Usually about 1 hour 30 minutes including a 15 minute interval - or 1 hour 15 without an interval, if you prefer. We are sometimes asked to perform a shorter version, say 45-50 minutes long - very popular for nursery schools or special schools - this can be arranged in advance, so feel free to ask!

How much space do you need?

Simple answer is, we’ve haven’t been beaten yet!

We’ve performed in all sorts of spaces, from an aircraft hanger to a classroom and everything in between - but, for preference we’d like a playing area of 15’ x 10’ or 4.5m x 3.5m minimum.

Do you need a stage to perform on?

No - often the show works better without one, as the characters frequently come out into the audience. That means that if you do have a stage or rostra, we appreciate a few steps at the front to use! If you would like us to use your stage, it does need to be big enough for our actors to work safely on, so it’s better if it fits the measurements above. If in doubt, give us a call.

We bring everything we need. Great set, professional sound system, lovely actors and sparky costumes!

How long do you need to set up and clear away?

We need a minimum of 30 minutes to set up and the same again to clear away.

Do you need anything from us when you arrive?

Over the years, our actors have been lucky enough to be offered food, wine, Christmas presents and hard cash!

All they really need is easy access to a standard power point and perhaps a cup of tea!

What age group is the show best suited to?

The fabulous thing about panto is that it genuinely has something for everyone. The show works really well for the primary school age range - 5-10 years, or thereabouts. However, we frequently perform in theatres and clubs for older children and their parents, or visit nursery schools and perform for 3 and 4 year olds. We always try to tailor the show to the age group - for example, for younger children we’ll tone down any ‘scary bits’.

Content-wise, certainly there is never anything inappropriate for children (or adults) of any age!

Is it all...safe?

All of our equipment is maintained by professionals. The electricals are checked before and during each tour by a qualified electrician and any cables will be secured out of harm’s way prior to the show.

We have public liability insurance of £5,000,000 as standard on all of our productions.

Anything else I should know?

We encourage you to talk to us prior to a show and ask us any questions you may have; we’re happy to discuss any aspect of our visit. Ring up for a chat!
